Everything that the person above has complained about, mine was 1million dollar purge that papers and contacts and payments were all mysteries . He took money out of my account while on travel un Europe. MY BANK was his bank for 250 to call amex to make a payment. It goes on and on. fortunately I have designed a number of law firms for my clients and they all are happy to bring this to a stop soon. Cannot wait. Stacks of papers of his blatant fly by night rob them while they are asleep.

When I reached out to one of my friends that works in the financial industry about his recommendation for a new CPA, he recommended Chris Pertgen and his company Ledger Cents. The only reason we were looking for a new CPA was because of the lack of communication and transparency with our former accountant. This was due to their lack of email response, work that they told us was being done but wasn't, and so on. OnChris and his assistant, Terry met me at a restaurant downtown and were very communicative in the initial stages when they were trying to get our business, assuring me that there would be full communication and transparency if we were to use their services. In our two meetings at the downtown restaurant they promised full communication and assured me that all questions and concerns would be addressed while retaining their services as a client. That was all true while they were trying to take us on as a client and we received several emails from them daily. At that point, we decided to work with Ledger Cents. Little did I know, they were simply telling me what I wanted to hear. Our bookkeeping services proposal was accepted, signed, and paid on 02.18.19. I was told that once this was put into place that this would be set up and our transactions would start being logged within a business week. On 02.22.19 I emailed Chris a question and received no response whatsoever. We sent a follow up email and still received no response. One week later we were charged 150 on 03.01.19 for the third bookkeeping services payment, still with no response to our email. I sent an email that day asking about the previous emails that were ignored and about the bookkeeping service. Chris responded that they were busy and everything was looking good going forward. I accepted this as a gaffe on their part and moved on.On 03.06.18 an invoice for 1,122 to export the transactions from our expense app into Quickbooks Online was received. We were at no point informed that this expense would be a part of the services to be rendered. I requested an email detailing any other hidden expense and that we jump on a phone call at the end of the week to discuss a couple of things as I began to see that what we were being told and the reality of the situation were two completely different things. That email was ignored as well. Also, every phone call to their office during this process went straight to voicemail. We have yet to receive a call back from the messages left and their phone line continues to go straight to voicemail every time.At this point we were really starting to get concerned. Two weeks later on 03.18.19, after still receiving no response to our prior emails, and with our bookkeeping services still not being set up and receiving no communication about it at all, I emailed Chris and Terry once again, expressing my deep concern about the breakdown of communication. They did respond to that email but when I sent a follow up email asking for crucial tax information, they disappeared once again. On 03.26.19 I sent yet another email asking for a response which was ignored. On 03.29.19 I sent an email detailing our displeasure with the way their company misled us, the lack of communication, and the work that we paid for that was not provided. At this point Terry emailed us saying that Chris had to leave mid tax season and had been out of town with a death in the family.I truly am sorry if there was a death in the family, but this doesn't excuse the weeks of gaps in communication especially when Terry, the office manager, wasnt responding to our emails either. Our emails were ignored over and over again and the bookkeeping setup that was promised was never completed. I did notice that during this period when they couldn't provide a response to our emails, Chris was busy writing plenty of random posts to his personal Facebook page which seemed strange. We have screenshots of his entire Facebook page and all posts for reference before it was taken down by Chris.I think that it is beyond disgraceful to treat clients in this manner. If they are too busy to take on new clients, they shouldn't. I have been a small business owner for many years and I would never dream of deceiving my clients and telling them what they want to hear, just to add more income to my bottom line. Our customer service is impeccable and reflected in our five star reviews across the board. I was under the impression that their company would be the same since it was highly recommended by one of my good friends. We have continuously asked for them to provide us a copy of the legal agreement that was signed as this was also never emailed to us. We requested these legal documents after our initial meeting and then again by email on 040119, 040319, and 040919 with no response whatsoever and every single call to their phone line goes straight to voicemail. The most frustrating part currently is having no way to contact them. They ignore every single email, phone call, and we even drove out to their physical address as listed on their website to leave a note on the door. We couldnt even find their storefront so Im beginning to wonder if that even exists. So basically they took around 1,000 of our money, never completed work that was promised, and completely disappeared. We have put together a PDF of all email communication with their company since our initial inquiry. This is in sequential order by date so the lack of communication from Ledger Cents can be seen in black and white. We are now going to file a civil complaint with the Charleston Magistrate Clerks office as I see no other option at this point to get a response from Ledger Cents then to have the Sherriffs Office deliver a complaint to their physical location. I find it very difficult to understand how Ledger Cents thinks it is professional to not refund our money when the requested services were never received and it has been an ongoing struggle to get any communication from their company about said services or just any answers in general. This has been a long, drawn out and exhausting process that I would not wish upon anyone.
