(Penalty For Not Having Health Insurance)

Important

The “shared responsibility payment” (penalty for not being insured) NO LONGER APPLIES FOR FEDERAL after 2018. However, CA stepped in and adopted the federal penalty for 2020 and future tax years and will generally follow federal rules.
