Maricela has been indicted, but not convicted. You all should contact Lucy Cruz, special agent in charge of Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation Division. I read a review above from Juan G and almost identical thing happened to me though I got charged much more and they blocked my calls. It's been over a year and IRS has still not received my amended returns that Maricela supposedly filed. Left many messages and made many phone calls with no response. Finally got a hold of a Jennifer today who told me they had proof they filed them and if I had an issue I would have to do it myself before hanging up on me. I called back and an office Mgr told me they would no longer be assisting me and hung up me to and blocked my number from calling them. I will be filing fraud complaint with IRS this week and will be reaching out to Webb Co DA regarding this business practices of theft of services.

This business has a very weird way of conducting business, I did my amendments this year with them and just to find out they were not done when Mr. Chavez and his wife Maricela charged me close to 1K for all 3 amendments. I had to run around in circles to obtain copies for like 3 months straight. Upon doing research I found out that this place is now named Universal Tax, then Laredo Tax Professionals, and so on. A real professional firm does not change names constantly and gives a face to his or her clients. This place does not do this. I find it even more odd that upon research one of the tax preparers has been actually charged with tax fraud and is now working apparently under her husbands umbrella and to make it worse they are doing PPP Loans for people during pandemic year which only means something is not right here. I have made this known to the SBA and I am seeking another tax professional to really help me with my amendments and future returns. 100 NON RECOMMENDED!
