Julie Presley, EA, is enrolled to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. With a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting, additional accounting education hours equivalent to a masters degree and over 13 years accounting/tax experience in a small CPA firm known for it's strong integrity, Julie is well prepared to provide you professional, personalized accounting, payroll and tax services. With her education, over a decade of hands-on, tax experience and intensive studying, Julie successfully passed the 3-part comprehensive IRS Special Enrollment Exam, achieving her Enrolled Agent designation in June 2015. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete at least 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.

In November 2016, Julie became an NTPI Fellow. Enrolled agents receive their right to represent taxpayers directly from the U.S. Treasury, after proving in-depth knowledge of the IRS tax code through examination. The National Tax Practice Institute™ (NTPI®) teaches enrolled agents, CPAs, and tax attorneys how to represent their clients. Representation requires expertise in the tax code as well as knowledge of the system and how it works. Clients deserve the best defense possible, and this requires continual education and review, as well as a robust network of expert colleagues who are willing to offer advice and assistance as needed.
NAEA developed NTPI to prepare licensed representatives to protect their clients' rights and build camaraderie among top practitioners. At NTPI you will increase your knowledge of IRS laws and procedures critical to representation—including Circular 230, the document which governs tax practitioners, learn from other enrolled agents who are actively involved in representation, and gain practical hands-on experience.
At its core, NTPI is a three-level program developed to sharpen the skills of enrolled practitioners at all stages of their careers. With each level of this program, participants expand their knowledge and skills, and gain the confidence needed to successfully guide their clients through the often challenging maze of IRS codes, internal regulations, and agency structure.

Julie established 1st Choice Accounting & Tax, LLC to provide excellent, personalized accounting and tax services while maintaining a small firm, approachable atmosphere. Her goal is to help you weed through all of the confusing accounting and tax information out there to ensure you are within the applicable laws while maximizing all allowable deductions.

Julie is married to her high school sweetheart for almost 30 years and has a 26 year old son and a 20 year old daughter. Julie enjoys reading, horseback riding, photographing fabulous sunrises/sunsets and having "movie theater nights" (a good DVD, microwave popcorn, all lights out and volume wide-open) at home with her family.
