Awful, awful service. Mary made a mistake on our 2022 tax return and didn’t add in a W-2. We received a letter from the IRS in 2025 stating we owed $8400 including interest and penalties. Mary finally admitted her mistake after several arguments over the phone and then completely stopped communicating. Stay far far away. This woman needs to retire.
Mary was recommended to us by a friend. We hired her to file our 2022 taxes. Fast forward to now 2025, we received a letter from the IRS stating a W-2 was missing from 2023 and that we owed an additional $8400 including penalties and interest. We reached out to Mary and were faced with defensiveness and after proving to her that we originally provided her all of the needed information she admitted her wrongdoing stating she would “look into it and get back to us”. We have tried reaching out to her to follow up via email and phone calls to no avail. We are good people who do the right thing, and we expect the same in return from people we entrust.
I have been using Mary for my taxes and planning since about 1986. She is pretty-dang sharp when it comes to tax law. I have relocated to Arizona and she still is able to navigate the State Tax Laws of a state that is different than her home office. Seriously, this will be my 38 year of her services: I would not have stayed with her this long and through a move if she wasn't at the top of her game. The rude feedback comment makes me laugh: Mary is one of the nicest people I know, but what she doesn't have patience for is people trying to manipulate her into doing something that is illegal and not accepted by the IRS. She will tell you why that will not work and why she won't endorse or implement that antic. She will be direct with you, as her name is on the document! If that is your tactic you should probably go to your safe space and have a good cry, then find a tax-preparer who will help you find your way into an audit! HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend!!
Mary has been doing our taxes for years and we have always been pleased. Yes, she can be hard to get a hold of. Yes, she is not always the most cheerful person. But please keep in mind that tax season is the busy time of the year for people in this industry and sometimes the wait is worth it. Mary is bright and engaging with your taxes and will make suggestions on how you might be able to reduce your tax burden in following years. She has always finished on time and is available to answer questions year-round.
Mary was extremely rude and unprofessional this tax season while doing my taxes for 2020. I sent her over all of my tax information on Feb. 27, 2021. I sent her multiple emails regarding my bank account information for direct deposit, she did not respond. I kept sending the same email over in hope that she would respond. I finally had to send an email stating that I was very concerned about the status of my taxes with the lack of communication from her. She informed me that she had a personal matter she was dealing with and she would get back to me in a couple of days. I waited four days after this email until I reached out again. I reached out again and asked for the status of my taxes. She informed me that my tax refund had already been sent, however, since she never responded to any of my emails, she sent my tax refund to my ex-husband's bank account. When I informed her of this and asked her how I can change the account information her exact words were, Obviously you're not into details otherwise you would know how to change it yourself. That is why I hired an accountant, to help with matters such as these. I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism from Mary and the audacity she has to be so rude to a paying customer. I encourage everyone to look elsewhere for an accountant. Everyone makes mistakes but please find someone that will own up to their mistake and care enough about their clients to do what is necessary to professionally and kindly rectify the mistake.

You were asked to send you information and new drivers license. You would have thought to include a new bank account. However, the IRS is sending the stimulus packages out to the 2019 information regardless of what is filed for 2020. Several examples occurred today where my clients asked why they received more money than they should have. The only reason is the Internal Revenue Services is pumping out the stimulus based on the 2019 information. They have not taken the 2020 returns into account so your stimulus payment was going to go to the old account anyway. I am not a mind reader and don't know that you changed your bank account unless you give me the information before the return is filed. And the personal matter was a death of my brother and was a little upset about his death!!!
