I was referred by a colleague and had her do my taxes for 3 years. Now the IRS says I owe over 2000 because she filed the wrong tax credits for those years. I asked her to send the addendum to IRS and she said she did. Nope. IRS has no record of it. Also not a CPA so I guess anyone can say they are a tax professional. My foot. Lesson learned. I paid her so My taxes could be completely screwed up and now I owe. Do yourself a favor and MAKE SURE the initials behind the name are CPA!

Despite providing her all of my documentation and W2 she incorrectly filed my taxes. I know am being charged by the IRS thousands in fines. I am currently contacting the AICPA and the NEAE as well as the Office of Professional Responsibility at the IRS. I provided them a cashiers check to pay for my services which they claim they never received and now years later, they claim this. AFTER they incorrectly filed my taxes and I found their problem I have had to show them 3 times their mistake which now they seem to have forgotten again. She want's to charge me the 200 fee for the original filing, a charge to amend my return, and stick me with the interest and fines from the IRS for their mistake.
