Keith is an outstanding EA, and is qualified to not only prepare returns, but to communicate with the IRS on your behalf, figure out complicated tax problems, and help do tax planning within what would be commonly expected from a tax professional. If you are looking for a high level of service and professionalism, I think Keith is your guy. That said, if you are looking to be treated differently from other clients or want to work outside the system they have set up, then they might not be the right fit.

First off, all the good reviews here have been paid for by VanBaum. They give 25 off to every client who writes a good review. I reached out to them as a prospective client and asked if I could use a more secure option to share my tax documents such as Google Drive. Instead of assuring me of the security of their client portal, they rejected the idea because they don't want to keep track of google drive links. So I tried creating an account on their client portal to upload my tax documents, but I got an error without any helpful error message. Instead of helping me with the error when I shared this with them, they told me to not try again because I'm not a good fit and wrote me off! Unbelievable customer service. Upload your tax documents to their portal at your own peril.

I have been with Vanbaum amp Associates since 2016. Keith is amazing, that first year between my husband and myself we had 4 W-2's and 3 states. I thought it would be super expensive, but it was so affordable. We continued to throw curve balls at Keith and his team by moving to yet another state.
