Did you know? Armed Forces Travel Expenses

Did you know that travel expenses incurred by Armed Forces reservists required to be more than 100 miles from home are able to deduct expenses for overnight lodgings as an adjustment to their gross income?

As long as their trip is associated with their service, they can take the adjustment rather than using it as a miscellaneous itemized deduction. This is true even in cases where the reservist doesn't itemize.
